Oleksandra Matviichuk

Oleksandra Matviichuk is the head of the Center for Civil Liberties and the coordinator of the public initiative EuroMaidan SOS, which was created in response to the dispersal of a student demonstration, and defended the protesters during the Revolution of Dignity. She is also an initiator of the #LetMyPeopleGo and #SaveOlegSentsov campaigns aimed at releasing Ukrainian political prisoners. She is the recipient of a series of awards for human rights activities, including the OSCE’s Democracy Defender Award (2016), and is the first female graduate of the Ukrainian Emerging Leaders Program, Stanford, CDDRL (2017).
