Led by enthusiasts Peter Madsen and Kristian von Bengtson, Copenhagen Suborbitals (http://www.copenhagensuborbitals.com/) has the goal in about 3-4 years time to send a man 130 kilometres into space. Whole team of amateurs with a minimum of resources works to build a manned space program. The backgrounds of the team are submarine-builders, architects specializing in aerospace travel and including former employment at NASA. A successful rocket launch has already taken place in June 2011, when the world's first amateur rocket has broken past the speed of sound and became a step towards venturing into space has now become reality. Peter Madsen is an artist and inventor, who also built 3 submarines, incl. the world's largest amateur built submarine, Nautilus.
