Yana Zinkevych

Since she was 18, Yana has been running both, the medical battalion and Hospitallers Training Center, which has saved more than 2,700 wounded. For her personal contribution and lifesaving, Yana has been awarded the title Hero of Ukraine, and the Order of Merit of Ukraine of the third grade. In 2016, at the age of 21, Yana was honoured among the Top 30 Under 30. Now, in addition to overseeing the activities of the battalion on the frontline, Yana is studying at the Dnipropetrovsk Medical Academy, being among the first few students in a wheelchair to study in medical schools of Ukraine. This year, for her self-sacrifice and life saving action Yana was presented the Holy Martyr Omelyan Kovch award and received an audience with Pope Francis in the Vatican.
